On June 9, he was detained, searches were carried out in his house. The reason was a song performed many years ago, which Khovansky did not record or publish – the recording was made during the stream and posted on the Internet by a third party. The text contains the words: “Nord-Ost – it was **** [excellent]” and “I want more Russian children to be killed.” Khovansky himself claims that he was just making fun of, and more than once asked for forgiveness for his trick.

“In 2012, I sang a stupid song. Articles 205.2, part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation did not exist then in the form in which it is imputed to me. This is well known both to the courts and the investigation, but no one is going to release me. I am being held in absolute lawlessness. , and I can’t do anything about it, like my lawyers, “writes Yuri Khovansky from prison. Under this article, he faces up to seven years in prison.

On August 10, the name of Khovansky was added to the list of terrorists and extremists, all his accounts were frozen. On October 6, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg once again extended his detention until November 8, rejecting the defense’s proposal to change the measure of restraint to house arrest. The investigator indicated that he does not have time to complete the investigation, because he plans to appoint a linguistic examination and hopes to receive the previously requested information from VKontakte and YouTube. He justified the need for detention by the fact that Khovansky “possesses deep knowledge in the use of IT technologies, including knowledge of the possibility of remotely deleting information from electronic media.”

Khovansky’s fans gathered in front of the courthouse, about 200 people. Hip-hop performers Oxxxymiron (Miron Fedorov) and Restaurateur (Alexander Timartsev), blogger Ilya Maddison came to support the defendant.

A huge number of positive characteristics, personal guarantees were collected, including from the deputy Vasily Vlasov, ALL arguments on which house arrest were refused last time were defeated, including such that Yura was “unemployed and he has nowhere to live.” Therefore, the court voiced the already familiar argument about high knowledge in IT and the resulting threat, “- wrote after the court hearing Maria Nelubova, a friend of Yuri Khovansky.” Yura is sitting in a cell with three people, playing sports, actively conducting correspondence. He tries to hold on, although it is difficult for him.

It should also be noted that this whole process has passed completely into the political plane, and no one remembers the expert opinions.
